Spring 2006
We began discussing becoming parents.

September 2006
We decided we were ready to become parents.
We decided that adoption was the way we wanted to create our family.
We decided to adopt from China.

October 2006
We began gathering the required paperwork for our first daughter.

June 2008
Amalie Yu-Mei Pancoast joined our family.

July 2008
Amalie began to ask for a sister.

November 2008
We began gathering the required paperwork for our second daughter.

March 9, 2009
We saw a small paragraph of information about Deng, Qin and requested
more information.

March 10, 2009
We saw Deng, Qin in a picture for the first time and received her file.

March 11, 2009
We sent our “Letter Of Intent” to adopt Deng, Qin to the CCAA.

March 18, 2009
We received our “Pending Approval” acceptance letter from the CCAA for Deng, Qin.

March 19, 2009
We received a “Daily Life Report On Deng Qin” update.

April 9, 2009
We received our I797C to complete our dossier paper gathering.

April 22, 2009
We received our final certified and authenticated paperwork.

April 23, 2009
We sent our dossier to Great Wall China Adoption to go to China.

April 24, 2009
We looked at the blog about a GWCA camp at the Beijing Social Welfare Institute.
Amalie recognized Li, Mengmeng in a picture.
We asked GWCA about the possibility of a miracle.

April 27, 2009
GWCA said they thought we had a chance for our miracle.
We received Li, Mengmeng’s file to review.

April 29, 2009
We submitted our letter requesting a special exemption from the
CCAA to allow us to adopt two girls at the same time.

May 1, 2009
Opal (Deng, Qin) 's dossier went to China.

May 8, 2009
We received an updated home study approving us for two girls.

May 10, 2009
Snow Wu, owner of GWCA, talked to the director at the CCAA on
the behalf of our family and Li, Mengmeng.

May 11, 2009
WE RECEIVED OUR MIRACLE…
The CCAA said “YES” to our request for a special exemption.

May 13, 2009
We submitted a request for an update on our I797C to approve us for two girls.

May 21, 2009
We are officially LID (Logged In Date) with our dossier at the CCAA.

May 26, 2009
We received our updated I797C.

June 12, 2009
We received our “Pending Approval” acceptance letter
from the CCAA for Li, Mengmeng.

September 8, 2009
After a long 110 day wait, we finally received the “Letter Seeking Confirmation” for Opal & Sophie after the CCAA reviewed our dossier.

November 9, 2009
We finally received word...Our Travel Approval has been issued.
We will leave soon to bring Opal & Sophie home to their forever family!!!

November 11, 2009
We received our Travel Approvals from the CCAA.
Our agency requested our U.S. Consulate appointments.

November 16, 2009
We received our consulate appointment for December 15 & 16, 2009.
We bought our airline tickets...We are going on November 26th!

November 26, 2009
(Thanksgiving Day)

We fly out of Spokane at 6:06 AM...HERE WE COME!!!
Follow the adventure beginning November 26th until December 18th on the "In China" page.

December 18, 2009
We fly home from Guangzhou via Beijing and San Francisco
to Spokane with All FIVE OF US!!!
We arrive in Spokane on United flight 6154 at 12:39 P.M.
Feel free to come and say "Hi" at the airport.
We plan to have lunch at Moon's Mongolian Grill on Division
with anyone who wants to join us.
