We're Home
December 2006  |  December 2007

Saturday, December 30, 2006

We have officially been home for a whole week with our gift from God! This has been an amazing few weeks. I was thinking earlier about all of the adventures that Sarah Joy has encountered since December 10, 2006. In the past 20 days, Sarah Joy has taken four plane rides for a total of about 19 hours. She spent the first 13 days with us living out of a suitcase in a hotel. Now she is in her home (brand new to her) with a new crib and a closet full of clothes. She encountered her first car ride and has now been for many rides. Sarah Joy has already been to church two times…Praise God!! She has celebrated Christmas with her immediate family and lots of extended family. She was excited to meet her Grandma, Paw Paw, Aunt Jackie, Uncle Mike, Michael, and Kara Lyn when we arrived at the airport in Atlanta. A few days later, she was introduced to her Great-Grandmother and Mr. Troy, her Aunt Teri, and more cousins. Just a couple of days ago, Sarah Joy attended her first birthday party for another little princess adopted from China. Today we were able to celebrate Christmas with our family in the north GA mountains and Sarah Joy was able to meet my cousin Joy that she is named after. Wow! We have really been busy and yet she is still so happy. She truly is our joy!!

As I type this update, Sarah Joy is sleeping in her crib. I am happy to announce that she slept all night last night in her crib and mommy and daddy got some much needed sleep. Thank you for all of the prayers for schedules and sleep. God has answered our prayers and we are feeling more and more “normal”.

Not only has Sarah Joy adjusted to sleeping in the U.S.A, but she loves our food! She really enjoys green beans, mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, and even biscuits!

Sarah Joy is also getting ready to walk…Watch out!! She is pulling up on everything and cruising around. We know that any day she will let go and take off. We are so excited to watch her develop and grow.

We cannot say enough how glad we are to be at home! We appreciate all of the banners, signs, pictures, food, Christmas goodies, and sweet tea! Thank you all so much! We will continue to update our website as we begin the real journey that God has allowed us to take with Sarah Joy. Thank you for all of your continued support and prayers!

Happy New Year from our family!
