HANGZHOU
We spent the day walking around the city, doing a little
shopping. In the afternoon we picked up Eva’s passport and
notarization forms. We are a true curiosity here. We’re
occasionally mobbed by people, usually young women, who are
excited and happy to see the baby and us together. One doesn't
see many babies out and about here in the cities. Babies here
are dressed in layers and layers of clothing in the winter and
spring because most people do not have heating in their home.
Eva came to us with a turtle neck, button down shirt and
sweatshirt, a pair of tights, pajama bottoms and sweatpants.
Most babies also wear split pants and no diapers so their little
tushies stick out. Note the Being scolded photo. The woman was
scolding us about not dressing Eva in warm enough clothes and
showing us how her grandchild was dressed. |
