Jenna’s Forever Family

Ni Hao! This is your new
family, Jenna….Me and Madison and Mommy and Daddy. We’ve been
waiting a long time until you came. I know you’re havin’ fun
with the nannies now. When we come to get you, you’re goin’ to
love being a sister in our family.
These are your sisters. I’m
your big sister Kaylee. (I’m the one wearing glasses.) Madison
is your sister, too. (She’s the little one.)
I really like you because I really wanted to get you from China.
I used to live in an orphanage in China, too, and then my
parents got me. Now we’re coming to get you. We were waiting a
long time until we could get you. We were missing you so much
that Mommy cried. I checked the mailbox every day so I could get
your letter. And then when we get you, I’m going to love you so
much!
I want to teach you your numbers so you can learn them. 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20.
That’s all I’m going to teach you until you get the hang of
them. I’m not going to teach you to 100 yet. I want to teach you
your letters, too. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O,
P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.
You’re going to have lots of fun at Florida. You can play with
games, you can meet all my friends, you can go to the park and
have playdates when you grow up. You can go to the ice cream
store with me. You can go to Disney World and watch the
fireworks. When you grow up, you can ride on the big people
rides at Disney World. You’re going to like sleeping in the
hotel, and you’ll have fun meeting my friends.
I’m going to like you very much. I can’t wait to play with you.
This is your sister,
Madison. She’s a good friend and you’ll
like to play with her. She’s very good and she’s 4 years old and
she’s very cute. We’re sisters and we love to play with each
other. You’re going to be our sister, too. You can dress up like
a princess and have a coronation with me and Madison.

Me sing baby song at me school.
Daddy no boom baby.

Me push baby in stroller.
Me sit in stroller and hold baby.
Me hold baby at horsey and baby can’t fall down.
And sing songs with me baby—baby songs—and sing more songs.
Me give baby kisses.
Feed baby nook (milk).

And more songs—more, more—no two more.
And more songs and more songs.
Me go park with baby.

Me read Mommy’s book to baby.
Me brush baby teeth and me teeth.
Baby take bath in me bathtub.
Baby no seep in me bed—baby fall out right here.
Me make silly songs—make baby laugh.
Me wuv baby and baby wuv me!
This is Mommy. She is My Mommy and Madison’s Mommy and Your
Mommy. We like her because she’s nice, and she’s my favorite,
and she teaches at the same school as me. She plays games with
me, like Hide and Go Seek, and Checkers, and Sorry. Most of all,
the very favorite thing I love to do with her is hug her and
kiss her and love her. Mommy reads stories to us every night
before we go to bed. She’ll read bedtime stories to you, too.
Daddy works at his workshop so he can make money for the babies
in China and make money for us so we can buy something we need.
You’ll like to ride on Daddy’s piggyback and his shoulders, and
have races with him in the pool. When you’re old enough, like
when you’re 6 or 5 or maybe 10, you can go on the roller coaster
with Daddy. Right now you can ride on the baby rides like Winnie
the Pooh and Dumbo and the horses. I like to go to the park with
Daddy. We go on the slide together and he’ll take you on the
slide too. (You can’t ride the merry-go-round because you’re too
little and you might fall off.)
Grandma lives near to us and we get to play with her. Grandma
makes me yummy noodle soup. I water the flowers at Grandma’s
house, and pick them for Grandma and Mommy. I like to go to the
gym and go get ice cream with Grandma. And I like to go to Publix with her—me and Madison always get a cookie. Grandma will
get Jenna a cookie, too. I like to wave goodbye to Grandma then
come back to Grandma’s house someday, then we can have the same
fun like we did another day.
This is Nai Nai and Grandad. They live in Tallahassee. Nai Nai
cooks delicious steamed eggs for me, and she makes the best
spaghetti in the whole world. I like to play with Grandad and
Nai Nai. We play in the swimming pool and go to Tom Brown Park.
I love to eat dinner with them in Tallahassee and at Olive’s and
Sonny’s. I like visiting them and playing with them, and I like
it when they come to my new house. Jenna will love to play with
them and eat Nai Nai’s spaghetti. It’s deliciouser than Olive’s!
Grandpa Bill likes to use a smoker and sometimes he likes to
watch the ocean. Ninna makes pancakes for me with syrup and
they’re yummy. We walk on the beach and look for crabs and
shells. I find a lot of shells when I build sand castles. I put
them in my blue bucket and my green bucket. When we get Jenna, I
think she’ll eat the dirt at the beach. She’ll wear a bathing
suit and we’ll build sandcastles together. She has to wear a
bathing suit, even if it’s too big.
Uncle Greg gives me piggyback rides. Me and Madison call him the
Piggyback Monster. I like him because he eats dinner with us.
Sometimes he goes golfin’ in the night and he has lots and lots
of money. (He leaves it all over his floor and sometimes I take
some of it!) He likes to grow peppers, but they’re really spicy.
I don’t like peppers, but I’m growing some for Uncle Greg. When
Jenna gets older, she can plant peppers and see if she likes
them. Uncle Greg will share his peppers with her.
I have a big family and they’re lots of fun to play with when I
visit. I like to play with my friends—Kimmie, Xenia, Bethany,
Gina, Christin, Jessica, David, Moses, and Jonathan. Sometimes
with my cousins we go out to the beach so we can swim in the
ocean. We play video games and have Easter egg hunts and ride
bikes. They’ll like to play with Jenna when we get her.

over each other, and we do really fun things together. A family
is somebody who loves each other all the way to heaven and
across the world and to heaven again. They love each other to
China and Italy and France and England and Germany and Alaska
and Asia and Turkey and Hungary and Japan and Hawaii and Russia
and back again, and then all over again a thousand times.”
