What A Trip…
Hi Everyone,
This has been a great trip. We had a quiet day of sleeping in,
walking in the garden, getting Lucas’s U.S. Visa, doing a last
bit of shopping, packing and just generally wrapping up our time
here. It has been so good to have Lucas with us and to visit his
orphanage then to be able to visit Jonathan’s orphanage and see
his sister. We have been blessed in so many ways in the last two
weeks. It’s hard to find words to really describe this trip.
I had a great conversation with one of the families we are
traveling with this morning. The dad is a pastor and they
adopted a little girl who is blind. It was a great time of
fellowship and just being reminded about priorities of an
eternal nature. God so knows what He is doing when He brings our
kids and the other families we meet into our lives. It’s amazing
how the kids “fit” in their families in ways that we could not
do ourselves. It is also incredibly humbling to watch kids
change and learn to trust…particularly the little ones who have
no filters. When they start snuggling for comfort instead of
pushing the parents away it’s a life changing (healing) moment
for sure.
Lucas has become quite comfortable with us. I imagine it will
take a few days to reach that point at home, but he has already
been interacting with the other kids through Google Hangouts so
that will help. It is so encouraging to see how well he is doing
and it is starting to feel like he has always been part of the
family. It has been an answer to prayer without a doubt.
Thank you to everyone who has held us in prayer as we prepared
on this trip and as we walked through the days of the actual
trip. We so appreciate all of your support and can’t imagine how
this would have happened without it. To those who helped in
other ways as well…Thank You from the bottom of our hearts for
helping to make this possible financially and in the day to day
needs of our family.
Our next post will come from the other side of the ocean. We
have to live through Saturday twice so please be patient as you
wait for that update saying we have made it. You likely won’t
see it until Sunday J.
