About Rylie
While on spring break we received
the long awaited phone call. Our agency informed us about our
precious little girl. Our family was ecstatic. We were in
Naples, Florida staying with Bob’s parents. It was wonderful
news to share with them. We immediately started sharing the news
with family and friends. Our first phone call however was to
Nick our oldest son who was on spring break with friends in
Destin, Fl. We informed Nick that he now had a new little sister
and he was thrilled. We couldn’t wait to get the package with
her pictures the next day.
Rylie’s Chinese name was Lin (meaning forest) Jing (meaning
quiet) and Shan (meaning Corals). She was born February 4, 2009.
She is from the Jiangxi Province. Together as a family we chose
her American name: Rylie Shanlin Benson. Our daughter Molli came
up with the middle name, which is a combination of her Chinese
first name (Shan) and last name (Lin). She is just gorgeous and
her pictures have joined the family pictures on the fridge where
we see her everyday. When we bring Rylie home she will be 16
months old.
According to her paperwork Rylie was found around 7:00 pm on
February 20, 2009 at the gate of the orphanage by a staff
worker. She was a healthy girl but a little bit small and weak.
She spent six days in the orphanage before going to foster care.
It seems she was only in foster care for a short period of time.
Her records show that she has been at the orphanage for a quite
a while. She seems to be developing normally.
Rylie’s latest report describes her as very lovely little girl
with a pair of big beautiful eyes. She is active, fond of
listening to music and playing with toys. Her favorite activity
is riding wooden horses and her favorite toys are balls.
We are very anxious for Rylie to join our family. We are
prayerful for the journey we are all about to embark on and the
transition this will be for Rylie and our family. We have
continually put our trust in God through this entire process and
will continue to trust Him.
We know Rylie will bless our family in so many ways. Please
continue to pray for us and Rylie as we wait patiently
(extremely hard) to travel to China to bring home our beautiful
little girl. |
