Qantas flight 191 leaves on time from Sydney to Beijing, our journey to Little Man Tate has begun.11 hours 40 minutes later we land in Beijing. Made it through the Beijing airport NO WORRIES! We find our guide, Grace, and make our way to the Poly Plaza Hotel, Beijing. It’s now 10:30 P.M., we get in our rooms and the beds are like bricks, but we still feel were sleeping on cloud 9, we are tired and the wake up call is for 7 the next morning. Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, The Great Wall awaits us.

Saturday, August 26, 2006
Wake up at 7, head down to breakfast and meet numerous other Great Wall Families. It is 8:30 A.M. the bus is heading out for Tiananmen Square, what an experience, the square is huge, it can hold over 90 American football fields. 9 A.M. Emily and Gianna are attracting quite a lot of attention, must be the blonde hair and blue eye thing! Now they know what it is like to be famous. We have seen the most beautiful children here and there is nothing better than seeing there cute little tushies doing their business over there on the square. I wonder what Chairman Mao would think of this! The walk takes us from Tiananmen Square to The Forbidden City. The Forbidden City’s beauty and vastness cannot be put into words. We made it to the Wall and it truly gives you the feel of Ancient China, not to mention the sore calves. We made it to the third structure while the kids had a race to the fourth. It’s now ten P.M. and wake up call is for 5 A.M. we fly on to Zhengzhou, our countdown to Little Man Tate is 16 hours away, this is going to be a long night.
