OUR FAMILY DAY

Today we had a day of rest, with nothing on our schedule. It was very nice. Plus we had to catch you all up. We got behind after a long travel day. We are back, and with a little more energy:) Going to bed is the hardest part of the day. Qwinn gets so excited for bathtime, it doesn't do its job of soothing our baby. Even with the lavender soaps and lotions. Plus, Ben started celebrating with him, and made it even more exciting. I think he learned his lesson:) It took almost an hour to get Qwinn to sleep, which entails us laying next to him with the lights out. Ben has been falling asleep with him, and is currently sleeping, and will have to wake up to do his job. It is the most important job, because I don't have much to say! But we did take lots of picTures today, we hope you enjoy them.

The most interesting thing that happened today, was the many people that have stopped to stare, ask questions or hold Qwinn. At breakfast, there was a group of younger adults staring quite hard, finally came over to ask with great enthusiasm if they could hold Qwinn:). They spoke some English, so we were able to tell them our story. Later in the day, we went to a market to get water and a couple treats. When we were checking out, they told us that we needed to weigh the treats (I understood every word!. No, really I guessed, it happened to us earlier with something else:). Ben stayed to pay, while I went to find the scale. While I was pretending to know what I was doing, I got mauled by a group of mostly elderly people. First asking if he was adopted (I did recognize that word), and then they commented on his runny nose (which is very mild) and his round face, and then I could tell they were wondering how we ended up with a boy. I pointed at his ears and said 'no work'. They nodded gleefully, and gave us 2 thumbs up (Ben had come to my rescue by then). They were all grinning from ear to ear. I have heard of this happening, and I know they are excited for Qwinn to have a better life. We are too!!

Bath time was another great time today! I don't think he has ever been able to run around in the nude. Lets just say, he knows he is a boy now:). Tomorrow morning we are going to oldtown Nanjing, naptime, and then we fly to Guangzhou for the last leg of our trip. We hope to have good internet service there. We will be getting to the hotel late, but hope to at least post some pictures. Goodnight from Nanjing!

Love,

Shawna, Ben and Qwinn
