Well, we have been home for 2 weeks. I can’t believe it.
Sorry for the late update, but I tried twice, once I got
home and once again had computer problems, so I gave up
until now. Macy is doing so good. You would think she as
been with us her whole life. At the airport, Darrian
looked at her and said hi baby girl and she smiled, went
right to him and has been attached to him ever since. If
he is around, she won’t let me do anything for her. She
just gets sweeter everyday. Everything we do, she copies.
Tonight she learned how to point her finger and say no.
She is a little dancer. She is so funny when she dances.
She can shake her head and move her hips from side to
side. Carly taught her to hold up her hand to her mouth
and act like she is singing into a microphone, when the
radio is on. It is so cute. Everywhere we go, all eyes are
on Macy. Everyone thinks she is so cute. Sunday at church,
she was going up to everyone shaking there hands. She is
so opposite of everything you hear about girls adopted
from China. I am sure it is because she had a foster
family. She loves the bath and water. She loves men, and
does great riding in her car seat. Every time she uses the
bathroom, she has to wash her hands and no one has to tell
her to do so. She also loves to brush her teeth. WE could
not have gotten a more perfect baby for our family. She
has a doctors appointment Sept. 24 with the plastic
surgeon for her cleft palate. So many people do not even
notice that she has a repaired cleft lip and when they
find out, they can’t believe how good it looks. She eats
so great also. Everything I have heard about cleft palates
is not true with her, for example, she eats anything and
everything. She can eat chicken nuggets and pretzels. She
can even suck out of a straw, and her palate is pretty
severe.
The day after we returned home, we found out Macy’s new
mawmaw (my mom) has breast cancer. In fact, she just had
surgery today and is still recovering in the hospital. She
will also have to have radiation and chemo soon, so please
remember her in your prayers.
This will be our last update for a while. Our next update
will probably be Macy’s 2nd birthday. Sept. 21.
Thank you Mallory Marlin for Macy’s welcome home sign. It
was beautiful. We loved it. Also thank you to everyone who
signed our guestbook and followed our journey. It was so
good to hear from everyone while I was in China. Thank you
Joe and Jennifer for our beautiful website. We will
treasure it forever and can’t wait to one day show it to
Macy, so she can see how excited everyone was about her
journey home.
