We are getting closer!!!

We are really beginning to feel like our wait might not be too much longer. The CCAA (Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs) recently matched families with log-in-dates of June 29, 2005 to July 13, 2005. We have a log-in-date of August 24, 2005. Of course, we still don’t know how long it will take them to get to the point of matching our family, but we do feel like progress has definitely been made and we are getting closer!

Like many other adopting families, we are trying to keep ourselves busy and we have done an excellent job this past month. We spent a wonderful Fourth of July with my parents and my Aunt Betty and Uncle Joe. Their pool is so refreshing and the kids had so much fun! About a week later, we left for our 15-day/ almost 3000 mile adventure! We left GA, spent the night in Richmond, VA. and then drove into Washington D.C. We toured the mall monuments for several hours and then got in the car and drove into New York City. We stayed three nights on 57th Street and took in all of the buildings and people in the city. Honestly, we were ready to leave that Friday morning and see some farm land and open space. That is exactly what we saw that day as we drove from New York City to Buffalo, NY. It was so beautiful! We spent a week in that area with about 28 other people from our church. We led a VBS, backyard bible clubs, and construction projects. We met so many wonderful people and really had an incredible time!!! After we finished up our mission project, we drove from Buffalo to the Niles, Michigan/South Bend, Indiana area and visited with some of our friends. This was also definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We left there and drove to Bowling Green, KY and then came home to Georgia. We are so thankful for the safe travel and incredible experience we had during this time. Now we are ready for a 15-day excursion to China to bring home Sarah Joy!

Within a few days, Graham and Grace will both be in school. Graham is looking forward to seeing all of his friends and learning more in 3rd grade and Grace is so excited about meeting new friends and learning all sorts of new things in Pre-K. We have had a wonderful summer and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us this fall. Please keep our family in your prayers, especially Sarah Joy. We know that God is in control of our future and hers.

We love Central Park!

Truly an amazing site
