TWO-YEAR "GOTCHA DAY" UPDATE

Where has the time gone? Has it really been 2 years ago today that you walked hand in hand with your nanny through the doors of the Ramada Inn, Henan China? You were scared and confused, so tiny and frail. You spoke the words momma and baba, only because you were instructed to and were made to give us a kiss. You cried for hours for your Chinese aunt and nanny who had taken care of you and now left you with complete strangers. It broke our hearts to see you so upset and scared. Our words could not comfort you, as you could not understand them.

With each passing day, something magical was beginning to emerge, you began to heal, trust and love.

Now here we are 2 years later and we reflect on God's work on how he brought us together as a family. You are no longer that frail and scared little girl. You are bold, brave, bubbly, loving, out going, funny, smart, secure, beautiful and most important you are our daughter .

We pray for your birth parents today, that God gives them peace for the hard decision to give you up. We hope that some how they can know you are happy, healthy and loved beyond words. We give thanks to your Chinese aunt Li Luning and the nannies who cared for you the 3 years we were apart from one another. We ask for blessings for your birth country China and all the wonderful people that make up your great country. Most of all we praise our God as he answered our cries and prayers for the little girl we knew was waiting for us on the other side of the world. You are truly a miracle and you amaze each and everyone of us.

We love you baby girl, "To China and Back"

Jenna has grown up so much this past year. Her size hasn't really changed much, 28.1 pounds and 35 inches tall at 5 years old. Her hair has grown at least 6 inches. She graduated pre-school and got the "Sweet as can be " award from her teacher. She is now sleeping in a big girl bed, no more toddler bed. She is so intellectual, she can do anything she puts her mind to. She had to learn how to swallow pills, her heart was becoming very enlarged on one side, so she is now on daily medications to help her heart beat easier. We knew going into her adoption she will need a maintenance surgery for her Tetralogy of Fallot because has she grows the valve will begin to separate and cause leakage. The cardiologist is still thinking she won't need the surgery until she is closer to her teenage years. She has no restrictions and is doing great. She loves to dance and perform, she did great at her dance recital. She hopes soon to become a big sister, we will keep you posted on that request.

We know how fast time flies and we try to enjoy every moment of her childhood. We are truly blessed and their isn't a day that goes by that we don't take a minute to reflect and say thank you for the miracle which is our daughter Jenna Leigh Xiaomeng Olges. We love you baby girl.
