We’ve had Jia for six months and she’s 17 months old! Time has flown by.

It was thrilling for us to celebrate Christmas with our daughter this year. She loved every minute of it and we did as well. Our family photos show our joy.

Jia’s favorite game is currently hide-and-seek. She takes such delight in being “found” and we play it all day.

She also enjoys pretending to feed the cats with a spoon or bottle. They are very tolerant but don’t usually respond to her cries of “More! More!” after they walk away.

Jia has more control when caring for her babies. Being cold season, she now has the babies blow their noses (while she makes appropriate noises). She also has them wave “hi” and talk on the phone. She wipes their faces as well.

She loves cleaning in general and is always scrubbing the floors with any towel she finds. Her aptitude at mimicking us makes us laugh, and causes us to watch our actions carefully! Jia also picks up every piece of carpet fuzz that she locates and hands it to us. This means that it takes a very long time to climb the stairs with her if we haven’t vacuumed lately!

Her interest in fellow shoppers (she loves to say hi to almost every one) now seems to include feeding them. If she is munching on Cheerios from her snack container, she’ll often extend it toward a nearby person.

We finally got some measurable snow here and took her sledding for the first time. We pulled her along the snowy sidewalks to a nearby sledding hill, and she loved zooming down the hill in mama or baba’s arms.

We feel so very lucky to have been blessed with this little girl. She’s wildly smart, imaginative, funny, sweet and spunky. Her zest and enthusiasm for life is unparalleled and we are completely wrapped up in loving her.
