FOREVER DAY!

WE HAVE REAGAN!!!

Today has been an eventful day. We left Beijing early this morning for Reagan’s province of Guangdong. We got here at 1:30, had to eat and unpack, and then had to be in the lobby at 3:30 to go the Civil Affairs Office to get Reagan. The waiting room was so hot and muggy. It was like I was in a dream when they called out, “Bride family, baby - Gao Shao Ai.” My heart leaped! Sean and I went to the door and met her caretaker. She handed her to us! She was so sweet and beautiful! I could not believe this was happening! This child whom I and so many of you had prayed for was finally in our arms! GOD IS SO AMAZING!

Reagan is a livewire to say the least! She is by far the MOST active of all of the babies! She is so strong and can almost stand on her own. She is sitting and crawling. She does not settle down! She is constantly moving! She does not really like to be held too much. She tries to get down to move and play. I cannot tell if that is just her personality or just a resistance to bonding with us. Let’s just say that the LONG plane ride home should be interesting! She is very content and happy, but very restless. She loved her bath!

She is sick. She has a horrible cough that is deep in her lungs; she is very raspy. She is also running a fever. We finally got her to take a bottle tonight, but we had to literally force her to start drinking it. She doesn’t know how to handle solid foods, not even small pieces of Cheerios. She will be nibbling on it with her front teeth, but she will still gag like she was choking. She is sleeping now! She looks so beautiful! Tomorrow is also busy because tomorrow is Adoption Day!

Please pray that she feels better, that she will allow us to hold her, and that she will eat better. She is so tiny! Only about 15 ½ pounds! Also, pray that my back will hold up. Trying to hold a wriggling baby is tough!

Ashton and Kieron,

Wow! What a day for you two! You are now BIG SISTERS! She looks so much like the two of you! I cannot wait for you to meet her! She was looking at the book with you pictures in the book! We told her who you were! I hope you have a great day today! Remember how much your daddy and I love you! We miss you so much!

-Mom and Dad

We got Reagan a bracelet for her Forever Day. It is a beautiful silver
bracelet with pink beads and pearls. There is a heart charm that indicates that she was born in our hearts!
