“The Star in the East was a miracle as was the Virgin Birth. I have no trouble believing in those miracles because a miracle happened to me and it’s still happening. Into my life came one tiny ‘dear’ (and twin sweethearts) and ‘a light shone round about.’ That light still shines and will as long as I have you (all three of you)…I love my light and don’t want to be ever in the dark again. I love you.” -Ronald Reagan

ADOPTION DAY!

Today is a special day; it is Reagan’s adoption day. We started the morning out with Reagan throwing up her ENTIRE bottle. We were all dressed and ready to go when - “Thar she blows!” It was horrible! She was covered, I was covered, and our bed was covered! We cleaned her up and bathed her again and put on a different outfit. I then cleaned myself up while Sean took the covers off of the bed. Needless to say, housekeeping loves us! We took Reagan to the Hospital doctor this afternoon because she was not eating or drinking and had only had one wet diaper since we got her. She is also running a fever and her lungs sound bad. The doctor said that Reagan has a bad case of Bronchitis. She said she needed antibiotic shots as well as the other antibiotics she is taking from home. She is getting a series of 4 shots. She doesn’t take medicine well at all. It has been very difficult to even get a little of the medicines in her. Please pray for her health. She has been sleeping a lot; and you can tell she doesn’t feel well. Also pray that she starts drinking. She still has not had another wet diaper. She did take a bottle this afternoon - only in spurts though. She also is having a lot of gas. Her stomach just churns. No wonder she doesn’t feel well. Please bathe her in your prayers! Pray for Sean and I to know how to comfort her right now and to do the right things as well

On a better note, she is letting us hold her and even cuddles on our shoulders. She even cries for us to hold her now. She is sleeping right now on Sean. We feel so blessed to have her in our lives! I cannot even imagine how wonderful it is going to be when she actually feels better! She even smiled and laughed at us today!

Back to Adoption Day…
We left this morning for the Civil Affairs Office again. When we got there, we had to do 2 interviews for the adoption proceedings. Then those words I longed to hear, “She is yours!” She is legally ours! We then went to have her passport photo taken at the police station. It was hot and crowded! When then got her adoption certificate! It is in a little book and has our first “official” picture together - the three of us. (I cannot wait until we can have a picture of all five of us, Ashton and Kieron!) We then came home, and Sean took a short tour of the island so that we could find our way around. Tomorrow we are off to the market. We love you all and miss you terribly!

Ashton and Kieron,

How are my favorite twins doing? I hope you enjoyed the present that you got for Reagan’s Forever Day! Ashton, I am sure you are taking good care of that doll! Kieron, I know that dolls are not your favorite, but I wanted you two to be able to share in Forever Day! We miss you both so badly! Today was the day we adopted Reagan. Wow, three girls; what is daddy going to do? You two be good and listen to MawMaw and PawPaw! We will be home before you know it! We love you!

-Mom and Dad

“But, then, there’s a cry that’s the saddest of all. In fact, it’s unlike any other. It comes from a deep, empty place in your heart that can only be filled by a mother. And after today, I will never again hear that sad song coming from you. You’re getting adopted, you’re getting a mother, and you’re getting a family too!”
-Shaoey and Dot - by Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman

Adoption Day at Civil Affairs Office!
(Ashton and Kieron, do you see what outfit she has on?)

Reagan before throwing up on this outfit!

Reagan laughing at Mommy!
(Heather, do you recognize this outfit?)

My mom really is NUTS!
(No comments, Susan and Barb!)

What mom doesn't know right now is how much I hate this hat! I will be sure to let her know later though!

Reagan is so beautiful.
She looks so much like Ashton
and has Kieron's dimples!
