Dear Sianna,
It is 12:12 a.m. and I am getting ready to go to bed.
However, you are heavy in my thoughts and I wanted to write to
you. Christmas is over and I am hoping it is the last
Christmas that we will have without you! I really enjoyed
spending the holiday’s with your grandmother Mildred this
year. It was simple and quiet…and just perfect! We opened
our presents on Christmas Eve which is a first for me!! And I
must admit…a treat! Mildred has a “good friend” Joe, that we
just love and you will meet him one day. He is such a good
man and we love that he and grandmother Mildred get to spend
time with each other.
I did not get to spend the holidays with my parents this
year…they had Christmas in the “mountains”…with your Uncle
David and your great Aunts Ida and JoAnn. But I did speak
with them and they sounded like they had A LOT of fun. That
group can not get together and not have fun! Your Uncle Will
and Aunt Debbie and your cousins spent Christmas with Aunt
Debbie’s family this year. I must say…it is kind of strange
that we were all separated this year…but next year…the year
that will be your first Christmas…EVERYONE will be there…and I
can not wait!
Tonight, your daddy and I went to your cousins house, John and
Beth…and all your cousins were there. They are all so excited
to meet you and everyone just lights up when your name is
brought up!
We did go to Nashville to get fingerprinted…one of the last
steps before we send our paperwork to China….but we had a set
back. I did get printed but your daddy has to wait a few more
weeks….LONG STORY. So the bad news is that it looks like we
may not get you until August or September. This is difficult
to deal with some days…but I try to focus on just holding you
for the first time and not thinking about the time. I know it
will happen as it is suppose to. But we are doing everything
we can to get there as fast as we can!
Oh I forgot to tell you…your grandmother Mildred gave me two
things for you at Christmas!! The first thing is a blanket
that was your daddy’s when he was a baby…it is so soft and
beautiful!!! The second thing that of course made me cry…is
the rocking chair that she rocked your daddy in when he was a
baby! I sat in the chair and just thought of you! So that
makes a crib, and a rocking chair for your room…just a few
more things and we will be all set! Of course I am still
thinking of how to decorate it.
I have emailed this site to all of our friends and family and
they have responded with such excitement! Everyone wants to
just jump on in and participate in your arrival.
Well my sweet little one, I am thinking of you tonight and
missing you so much!
Love you always,
~Mommy |
