Well, we have had another great day here in the city of Nanchang in the Jiangxi Province of China. We started out the morning with a breakfast in the hotel dining room. We think we know everything we are eating, but we are not always sure. Graham has figured out how to tell the cook that he wants his eggs scrambled. However, the eggs do not taste like ours….they taste exactly like Chinese food. I am sticking with toast…just good ole' plain toast! Sarah Joy, on the other hand, loves the congee (a mushy rice mixture) and enjoys a huge bowl every morning.

Later this morning, a Chinese physician came to our hotel to examine each baby. He said that Sarah Joy looked great, only a runny nose. We are so thankful!!

After our physical examination, we decided that the 7 of us would venture out of the hotel and go back to Wal-Mart and a local electronics mall. We had our guide write down the word "Wal-Mart" in Mandarin as well as our hotel and address. We all 7 piled in a very compact car and somehow lived to tell you about our trip. We just thought NYC was horrible. It is mild compared to China! And by the way, it only cost $1.00 US total for all of us.

Wal-Mart was just as crazy today as it was yesterday. We know how celebrities must feel when they go out in public. The Chinese people are so fascinated with Grace. They pull out their flip- phones and take pictures of themselves with her. We just all smile while Nana keeps a tight grip on Grace at all times.

As we were leaving Wal-Mart, we had our first experience with a child beggar. A little boy, maybe 3 years old, ran up behind Mike and put his hand down Mike's back pocket. He had a little plastic bowl in his hand and he followed us until we gave him some change. It just broke my heart! It also made me realize, once again, how fortunate and blessed we are.

Before we headed back to our hotel, we decided to eat an early dinner at KFC. Sarah Joy enjoyed a few French fries and even some ice cream. For dinner, we had a family bucket of chicken, two orders of hot wings, three orders of French fries, a bowl of soup, a one-liter Pepsi, and four ice creams…all for a grand total of about $12!! Please pray that we don't get sick!!

We finished up our day with a bath and lots of belly laughs from our sweet girl. She really is a happy baby and I think she is beginning to love us. One thing is for certain….we are truly in love with her!!

Until tomorrow,
Mike, Leigh Ann, Graham, Grace, Sarah Joy, Nana, and Granddaddy

P.S. Thank you all for signing our guestbook! We are crying in China every time we read your comments! It is so encouraging for us to hear from you and know that you are praying for us.
