Well, we have had another wonderful day with our sweet baby
girl.
We completed a very important step in the process of
international
adoption...Sarah Joy received her passport today! Now we just
have
to get her visa and we will be ready to come home...(of course,
we
are just about ready now).
Today was a much more relaxed day
just
hanging out at the hotel, but we did manage to do some shopping
in a
local porcelain store. Jiangxi province is known for its
porcelain
and, of course, we wanted to have some treasures from Sarah
Joy's
province. Nana did really well considering the prices and her
love
of porcelain!! And if I told you how cheap the porcelain was,
then
you might know how much we paid for your gift….just kidding!
As we approach tomorrow, I have many mixed feelings. On one
hand, I
am so excited that we get to celebrate Sarah Joy's first
birthday
with her and we are heading to a new province to complete more
paperwork. On the other hand, I am very sad for her birth mother
who is probably wondering about her baby and I am sad that I may
never have the opportunity to re-visit the province of a country
that has given me so much. Right now, however, I feel like we
need
to focus on the positive and celebrate this bundle of life that
God
has given us to raise and also celebrate that we will soon be
able
to brush our teeth with water from the sink, sleep in a bed that
is
not as hard as concrete, drive our own car, and drink some sweet
tea!!
I think you can probably tell from the pictures that Sarah Joy
is
doing great! I told Michael this evening that she is everything
I
prayed for in a baby. I am so thankful that she is healthy and
happy!
Again, thank you all so much for signing our guestbook. I
usually
get up during the middle of the night to read comments just
because
I cannot wait until the morning.
Our next post will be from the
city of Guangzhou in the Guangdong province with our birthday
girl!
We love you all and can't wait to see you…
