In just a little over 12 hours, we will be saying "Good bye" to
China and beginning our long journey back to the U.S.A. This has
been an incredible experience for us! I remember when Life
Action
Ministries came to our church and we sang a song about never
being
the same again. This trip has been such an adventure and we will
never be the same again. We have experienced a land and culture
that is so different from the U.S. But most importantly, God has
blessed us with a precious child from this country. To Him be
the
glory for the great things He hath done!
We had a great last full day in Guangzhou. After breakfast, we
went
with our group to the zoo. It was different from the Atlanta
Zoo,
but we still had a great time and the weather was perfect. When
we
returned to our hotel, we ordered some lunch from Danny's Bagels
and
rested for a while until it was time to go to the U.S. Consulate
office and complete the swearing ceremony. This was done in a
large
room filled with families and babies. We all raised our right
hand
and said a few words and then Sarah Joy Le officially became our
daughter. It was an emotional moment for me.
We finished off our evening with some dinner at Lucy's (really
watching what we eat) and then heading back to our hotel to work
on
packing things up. We will be leaving the White Swan around 11
AM
tomorrow (10pm GA time) and we will fly to Hong Kong. Then we
get
on the long plane ride to Chicago. Please pray that we are able
to
land and get out of Chicago. We have heard bad weather is
heading
that way. Once we leave Chicago, we are scheduled to land in
Atlanta around 11:45 pm on Dec. 22.
I am really thankful for all of the prayers that have been
lifted up
for our family. Please continue to pray for our 3 flights
tomorrow.
We are so excited to be able to share Sarah Joy with you. We are
looking forward to seeing all of our family and friends and
having
some great food and sweet tea!!
See you soon,
Mike, Leigh Ann, Graham, Grace, Sarah Joy, Nana and Granddaddy
