God is good…all the time!! We have been so blessed with such a
wonderful baby that has already brought so much joy to our
family.
Ya'll, she is precious and you cannot help but fall in love with
her!! I still am in awe of how well she is adjusting to us. I
just
laid her down in the crib for the night and as I was holding her
she
took her thumb out of her mouth and said, "Momma". I can't help
but
melt!!
Besides having a wonderful day with Sarah Joy, we also enjoyed a
terrific day in Nanchang. We went on a group tour to a pavilion
of <
a former Chinese emperor (sorry, I can't remember the name right
now, I am still going crazy about the `momma' thing). Anyway,
this
place was incredible and beautiful! While we were there, we were
able to see a short Chinese performance with dance and music.
Grace
and Graham really thought it was cool….and it was!
After the pavilion, we walked to a nearby Chinese restaurant for
a
group lunch. Our guides ordered the food for us and we ended up
trying about 12 or 13 different dishes. Some were really good
and
some we didn't particularly care for. Sarah Joy loved the
steamed
egg with a little rice mixed in. Yum! Yum! Oh, and you will see
how much she enjoyed the watermelon!! In the end, it was a very
great experience and only cost us about $4 per adult and $2 per
child.
We came back to the hotel this afternoon and just chilled out
for a
while during Sarah Joy's nap. Then Nana and I went for a treat.
Our guide took us to a local massage parlor and we both got a
foot
massage and full body massage with hot stones! Oh My!! It was
wonderful!! The massage lasted for 88 minutes (8 is a very good
number in China) and we paid a little less than $7 each. All I
want
to know is…can we go back tomorrow??
While Nana and I were gone, Miss Sarah Joy revealed more of
herself
to Daddy and Grandaddy and Graham and Grace. They said that she
played on the floor with her brother and sister and crawled
everywhere and even pulled herself up on the crib. We have not
seen
a lot of action from her, so we are thrilled that she is opening
up
to us.
We finished up our day with some wonderful cheeseburgers and
French
fries from McDonald's! Graham and Sarah Joy were relieved that
it
wasn't another Chinese meal…I think she likes French fries as
much
as he does!!
Tomorrow we are heading out of town to the countryside. We are
supposed to visit the home of a local family and really see what
living in China is all about. I am really excited about this
opportunity for all of us.
Hope everyone is doing great at home! Even though we are having
an
awesome time, we still miss home and you!
Until tomorrow,
Mike, Leigh Ann, Graham, Grace, Sarah Joy, Nana, and Grandaddy
