Greetings from Wuhan! We took a bus trip here and were able to
see the countryside, including a bright white egret standing on
the back of a water buffalo!
Wuhan is a very large city, home to 9 million people. We’re
lucky because the forecast is rain, which will keep us much
cooler. We are staying at the May Flower Hotel. It is quite nice
with all the amenities, including a crib!
We get Jia tomorrow morning!!! It is overwhelming that we are
finally at this point after the long wait. We purchased some
China adoption vocab cards. They have phrases like “these are
happy tears, tears of joy,” “I love you,” “I will never leave
you” and “I know you are sad, but everything will be alright.”
It tugs at our hearts knowing the huge transition that is ahead
for Jia.
We have so many thoughts and emotions swirling around. We are
praying that she’s healthy, and hoping that our first meeting
doesn’t completely scare her. We have wanted her and prepared
for her for so long, but, of course, she has no idea about the
big change that is in store for her. Different sounds, smells,
food, and being stuck with funny-looking strangers to boot! We
are anxious to learn about her little personality. We have been
wondering who she is and who she will become. We can’t wait to
get her! |
