Thursday, July 13, 2006 Jia is communicating a little better with us about her food and drink. She grunts whenever she wants something and then we present her with the options. When we show the one she wants, she drops the pacifier from her mouth and starts eating or drinking. We had a fun time playing with her today. She loves her stacking rings and cups. She also likes a crinkle toy we brought. We got a bunch of smiles and some giggles from her. We gave her a baby photo album with pictures of us and the rest of the family in it. We had to laugh because she tried really hard to crumple and tear them. Jia is amusing to watch while sleeping. She flings herself all over her crib. She crashes into the side of it suddenly and loudly so it always surprises us. Today was another furnace-like day. Both Joe and Jia were very sweaty after a brief trip outside in the Baby Bjorn. Guangzhou should be a tad bit better. We’re flying there tomorrow. We were hoping we’d have to use the ear plugs less by then, but it’s only a day away and we’re still using them periodically as she adjusts, so we doubt it! Everybody on the plane is in for a treat! Thanks to everyone for their posts on Jia’s guestbook. We really appreciate them.
