Today was our best day with Jia yet. We’re finally on a regular schedule of eating and napping, and boy, does it help everyone! We actually ate breakfast, lunch and dinner today! And Jia bopped and danced at each meal!

Jia had her first real bath this morning. We had mostly been scrubbing her off but today was a full submersion. Joe got in the tub with her, and as you can see, she had a good ol’ time! I was even able to clip her nails while she was in there!

Another first, I was able to carry her in the Baby Bjorn while we went around town. She was pretty content as long as I kept moving. I also fed her a bottle and we had some good cuddle time. And, I held her and carried her around twice without the carrier and she didn’t yelp for Joe then either!

Jia had her first dip in the pool today as well. She loved it!

We had to laugh because Jia was on the bed with all her toys around her but was making her best effort to move towards the nightstand. We figured she wanted the bookmark because she likes tassels. Or the crinkly plastic bag. Nope. Under everything was the spine of a New Yorker magazine. That was her goal. For tearing, of course.

We had an interesting night. When we’re in our hotel room and Jia sees Joe it’s like this fear kicks and she needs to grab him with all her might. At bedtime this evening, and naptime yesterday, it was hard for him to put her down in her crib without her becoming quite upset. Tonight, after a few unsuccessful attempts, I took her and rocked and sang to her and she eventually went down without issue. Another first!

We’re so ready to come home. We were very relieved to find out that we got on the direct Tokyo-Minneapolis flight, no more stops on the way. Should be so much easier.

One more day!
