March 2008 Update

Well, March was another month that literally flew by as we inched forward toward our precious Lexi. We began the month with a visit from Clifford the dog. He is a good friend of the children in Zoe’s class, and he visits a different child’s house every weekend. We took Clifford to a fish fry, a princess party, and the mall, where he drove a car and played miniature golf with Zoe. He also went with our family to church that weekend. He had a lot to tell the children about when he returned to school the following Tuesday!

We discovered the joys of sledding. Zoe LOVES zooming down the snow covered hill at lightening speed. She would literally stay out there all day if we let her. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo to share as the air was always too cold to take off my gloves in order to take a picture.

Zoe’s good friend, Mia, and her family invited us to the Shriner’s Circus. What an experience that turned out to be! There were clowns, trapeze artists, acrobats, tigers, elephants, ponies, and more. Zoe and Mia even had the chance to slide down a giant slide and jump around like crazy in a bounce house.

We celebrated Daddy’s 38th birthday this past month. Since Daddy is trying to watch what he eats, Zoe decided to make him a sugar-free chocolate pudding for dessert that night. She carried in the special dish and helped Daddy blow out the candles. I think his wish was for Lexi to come home this year. Oh, how I hope that comes to pass!

Zoe did something she has NEVER done before this month. She actually decided, of her own accord, to meet the Easter Bunny and sit on his lap. She waited in line for over an hour and looked scared to death, but she did it! She was nervous as all get out, BUT SHE DID IT!!! We were so proud of her!

Zoe and Daddy dyed Easter egg together. The Easter Bunny stopped by our house when we were sleeping and left eggs EVERYWHERE! Zoe had a blast searching all over to find those eggs. We enjoyed a pancake breakfast and, then, went to church on Easter Sunday. That afternoon, Mia’s family invited us over to her house for dinner and another egg hunt. We feel so blessed to have found Mia, her Mommy Merri Lee, and her Daddy Michael. They are such wonderful friends! And they will be heading back to China soon. They have received a referral for the most precious baby girl. I’m so excited for them!!!

I can’t wait until it is our turn …
