November 2006 Update

In November Zoe went to her very first football game where she ate football popcorn, football peanuts, and drank football water. It was so fun! She especially enjoyed the Seminole cry and cheering when the team scored touchdowns. Go Seminoles!!!

We visited Susan’s family in Columbus, GA for Thanksgiving. It was wonderful catching up with Zoe’s Great-Gran, Granmommy, Grandaddy, Great Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins. Zoe was especially excited to meet her brand new cousin, the lovely red-headed Anna Claire. She liked giving the baby kisses and even had the chance to hold her. She’s working on her big sister skills where she’ll be asked to hold and smooch on little Lexi when she FINALLY comes home.

We actually have news to report on the adoption front. We were logged into China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) on February 17, 2006. For most of this month February has been “in the review room.” This means that our dossier, along with all the other dossiers that were logged in this past February, is under close scrutiny at the moment. CCAA checks, and double-checks, to be sure prospective adoptive families meet their requirements before they can be approved to adopt a beautiful child from China. We are waiting and checking CCAA’s website daily to see when February has been cleared. What happens next? Unfortunately, we wait yet again. But at least, once we’ve cleared the review room, we know we have been approved and can breathe a sigh of relief.
