August 2007 Update

Well, another month of our wait for Lexi has inched by. I cannot believe it’s been over 18 months!

This month we took a trip to Nashville for my 20th high school reunion. Boy, does that make a girl feel old! Granmommy and Grandaddy met us there and they were wonderful! They watched Zoe the entire weekend. She even slept with them at night. What a treat!!! She was so well behaved for them that Rob and I made a huge decision. Since he has overcome his fear of flying, he really wants to go to China this time around. And since Zoe did so well with her grandparents, we’ve decided to change plans. My Mom and Dad are now going to come to our house and watch Zoe while Rob and I travel to China together to adopt Lexi. I’m so excited about this decision for a number of reasons!!! Zoe won’t miss any school nor will she run the chance of getting traveler’s sickness. Rob will have the opportunity to see a bit of China and its beauty. But most importantly, Rob will be there with me when Lexi becomes a part of our family!!! This is going to be so special for all of us! We’ll miss Zoe terribly, but we know she’ll be in excellent hands and Lexi will have some time to bond before having to share Mommy’s lap with her big sister.

The highlight of our trip to Nashville came when we met up with my childhood dance teacher, Miss Ann. I was so excited for her to meet Zoe. We had such fun catching up and visiting in her new studio. Miss Ann also bought Zoe her very first pair of ballet shoes, which she signed on the bottom. That makes those shoes incredibly special!!!

This month we got Zoe a haircut, went to a baseball game, a bounce house, and the aquarium. We also spent time enjoying parks outside, and even went to a fair where Zoe rode her very first rollercoaster. At the zoo, Zoe had the opportunity to drive one of those Fisher Price cars. Thank God she won’t be sixteen for a long, long time as she was a scary driver! It’s been hot here in the north but I know it won’t last so we’re making the most of it.

Still in love!
